CONNECTING WITH MAKERS
What if the adage “you are what you eat” meant more than just the nutrients and vitamins listed on the ingredient labels of the foods we consume? Now more than ever, food is the meaningful connection that links us to the culture and values of the people who make it.
“Shake the hand that feeds you.”
― Michael Pollan
Everyday, more people are tuning out the noise of factory foods and turning to small-scale makers to nourish body and soul. We realize that this is a big ship to turn around and that small, American food producers need a greater voice in order to bring their handmade goods to new markets and allow them to focus on their craft.
We will be that voice. Maker’s Common will be a neighborhood eatery and marketplace that connects these farmers and makers and their products directly with the consumers who crave them.
CRAFTING A COMMUNITY
Every small-scale maker has a compelling story that they would love to tell. Their passion for quality craftsmanship is the cornerstone of a vital community that values honest and delicious food. But we know that there aren’t enough hours in the day for production and storytelling.
“The people who give you their food give you their heart.”
Our mission is simple: craft a community that is connected to the sources and stories behind their food. We will provide the Bay Area’s best selection of American cheese, craft beer, wine, and charcuterie in a casual eatery and a thoughtfully curated retail marketplace. Enjoy food in our home or take it to yours.
We see Maker’s Common as a gathering place where people can come together to share good food, drink, laughs and stories. Join us on this adventure and help us celebrate the people that make our lives delicious.
